...To answer your first question, no this is not a screencap, I actually colored this for my 22nd color commission and this time its Saber from the Fate/ series...and that's all I know. I don't know anything about Saber, Fate/, or the series
I heard it was really good though. I may have to check it out somewhere down the line.
Now all of you are wondering how I got it to as close as the anime as I can...well, let's start at the beginning. You can't have a color version without the line art and seeing how the line art is done by a well known animator around these parts, one again he does not disappoint (althought here it's not perfect as there are some lines that kind of pop out in a bad way (part of Saber's hair) and I can't fix them so...sorry about that) So I've looked up some screencaps of Saber and most of them takes place during the night time. So I decided to make a night sky for a background and this was my first time doing so, so hopefully I got it right. Then I do the usual base colors and shading and lighting up til I get to the eyes. Now in the original line art, her pupils were back while in the anime they are dark green. So I used a dark green line to go around the pupils then I erase the black while keeping the spot on her eyes. I have to say this wasn't easy and while I do like how it came out, it's not perfect but I've done what I can at the moment. Also while I usually leave the white part of the eyes...white, in the screencap that part is usually light grey...so light grey it is. Finally, it's hard to see, but the top part of the picture as a minor brightiest to it comparing to the bottom. That's because in all the screencaps I saw, there's usually a minor bright filter on the top of the screen. So I decided to put in her as well just to give the finishing touches.
Now on the side note, I'm guessing that most of you saw my newest journal, but incase you haven't here's the short version. I'm going back to college and it will effect my coloring time. I can still do it, but I won't have as much freedom so it's not going to be my main priority at the moment, sorry
