Alright, it's the last day of voting, let see who wins...*looks at the results*....wait...a TIE!?  Inklings and Squid Girl won?  Well...I didn't expect that.  But now the problem...how to handle this as I can't favor one over the other and I can't fit everyone to the picture...*thinks*...well...drat...guess I have no choice.

*End Flashback*

Hello everyone, for the past month I've done a ballot of characters I would like to see in LAMA gear and the winner would be commissioned by Shoxxe.  And here's the winner or should I say Winners as it is a tie between the Inklings from Splatoon and Ika Musume from Squid Girl.  Seeing how both of them collab with one another it's only fitting to have these two character together in LAMA gear

Here's the story, in Inkoplis, there are two inklings who are usually curious about a lot of stuff and at one point they wonder what the underwater world would look like.  As much as both of them want to see what's under the water, there is one problem and it's that water kills them...well technically water dissolves them and turns them into spirits and they respawn at the last spawn point they touch.  Regardless, both inklings are determined to see what's under the water and went to Booyah Base asking help from Sheldon, Annie, Jelonzo and Crusty Sean to see if all of them could help design an outfit that is waterproof and allows them to breathe underwater.  So the 4 got to work as it will take a while to complete their request but then the Inklings realize something as they can't swim, at least in human form.  Ika was passing by and heard about what the inklings are going to do and decided to help them learn to swim.  Ika teaches them the basics as both inklings practicing swimming in their color inks and try to swim in human form.  Granted ink and water have different properties but it does help the inklings get a better understanding how to swim.

Several days pass as everyone meets up at an underwater jellyfish play area as the creatures from the Booyah Base was able to make several outfits of a full body wetsuit that's water proof and the LAMA gear allowing for a 360 degree view for the user.  As much as the Inklings are excited to finally see what the underwater looks like, as they start putting on the gear, they can't help but feel uneasy.  Ika noticed this and gave some thought.  She then decided to cut her hair and start on putting on the spare equipment much to the inklings surprise.  When they ask why she is doing so even though Ika can breath underwater, Ika replied that she wants to see the underwater world with the same equipment as they are and that so that everyone could be at the same level.  This makes the Inklings a bit better as all three get all the equipment on them as they jump into the water.  While the wetsuits and gear prevent the Inklings to be dissolved, at first they had a bit of trouble swimming but then the two hold hands and gotten a better balance and if one starts to lose balance, the other could help them out right away.  So with everything all set, the Inkling look at the underwater world as they can't help but be impressed which made Ika glad she made the right choice.

Oh boy this was a fun one.  Although I'll admit, I don't know about the Squid Girl series but I do see Ika Musume in a lot of places.  But...darn it Ika is so cute ^^.  As for Splatoon, I am more than familiar with this and it's a very fun game from Nintendo.  One of the ideas I had for quite a while is Inklings in LAMA gear underwater as because you never see any fan art of them underwater while makes sense seeing how Inklings die when they go into water but it's something I want to work around with an have them underwater.  And apparently a lot of you want to see that happen as well as I'm a bit surprised that a lot of people want Ika and her friends in LAMA gear as well...dang, I tend to forget that the Squid Girl fanbase is pretty big  As I said, I wasn't sure what to do but the safest bet to at least satisfy everyone is having Ika join the Inklings.  So to those who want to see Eiko Aizawa and Sanae Nagatsuki in LAMA gear as well, I do apologize for leave them out.

Now for the coloring, Ika was surprisingly easy to do as the the artstyle is simple to mimic and outside of one or two details, she almost looks like her anime counterpart.  Inklings were a different story seeing how they mostly exist as 3D models with the only 2D appearence they made was in the manga.  Oh that's right, the Inklings are also modeled from the manga which is nice.  So I just use my standard coloring style on them and originally I had the LAMA and airtank colors to be the same as their colors but having all the wetsuits, gear, hair etc looked off with all of them having the same color so I changed the colors of the LAMA and gear to match with the opposite colors they usually face online (as Blue faces green at times and orange faces pink when Blue and Orange don't fight).

I guess the last things to talk about are the Super Sea Snail and the Jellyfish as man these were tricky to color.  Because the Jellyfish has some detail inside them as well as lighting effects that was hard to get down but I got it as close as I can.  I like how they came out but here's a fun fact.  In the original line art, the jellyfish in the black shirt originally had english letters in them but I decided to step it up and use the (kind of) inkling language so if you look at it you can see that it says AB/CD, a name that closely resembles AC/DC (One person looks at a character in Jojo) Not that ACDC.  Still wait a minute...AB/CD?...Is that an Amazing World of Gumball reference?  As for the Super Sea Snail...I tried .  If you look at the 3D model of them, you can see why it's impossible to get it as close to that.  At least I gave it a lot of detail to it.

And that's really it.  My back up plan is to do the Inklings if the ballot failed but not only that both Inklings and Squid Girl got the require amount of votes to be considered but both of them were the highest and that wouldn't have been done if you guys didn't cast your votes on them.  So yeah color me impress.  While I wouldn't say it was close but all of you fought for you characters and even though they weren't consider I will give shout out for the people who voted for Fluttershy, Twlight and Rainbow Dashie from Friendship is magic, Pearlshipping and Diving at the Water Preserve 3 as all of them were tied for second.  To those who voted and didn't win, you did your best but thanks for participating.

One more thing, as you know Inklings appear in multiple colors but I can only use two which were orange and blue.  However, if you wish to color this so that use can see the inklings in different colors, then you can make your own color version of this.  It would be nice to see multiple color versions of this picture, so if you are up for it, contact me and we'll talk it out
